Read the CreateDigitalMusic.com article about our products iXY, MMM and DSMI! Search for "DSMI" on their page.

From the article: "iXY has one of the cleverest interfaces I’ve seen yet for something as simple as the trusted X/Y pad controller. Who says there isn’t still some room to refine interfaces?"

iXY is a MIDI X/Y controller for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Featuring 3 multitouch x/y controllers and an intuitive UI, iXY gives you creative on-the-fly control of your software synthesizers, DJ and VJ software.

iXY sends MIDI control messages over WiFi to your computer to control all of your favorite MIDI capable music and video software. iXY uses a freely downloadable server application on your computer to set up MIDI communication over WiFi. Check out CM Software Designs website to get up and running quickly!

* 3 x/y controllers can be moved at one time via multitouch. Each controller has configurable MIDI CC# by the settings page.

* Side indicators tell you what MIDI value is being sent by each controller at all times without getting in the way of your fingers! HINT: Tap the indicator to MIDI teach to your favorite application's MIDI Learn function!

* Two modes: Split mode allows up to two x/y controllers to be used at once, with their space divided on the screen. in this mode the controller instantaneously moves wherever you tap. Combined mode allows up to 3 x/y controllers to share the full screen. In this mode, you must tap and drag x/y controllers around the screen to control each one.

* Connectionless design: You don't need to "Connect" to your computer, iXY simply transmits to your computer, and as along as you have the DSMI servers available on our web page installed on your computer, iXY's messages will be picked up.

* 5 user patches let you control multiple soft-synths, or control many different parameters. The 5 patches are selectable from the bottom of the screen.

Visit our site and signup on our new User Forum! It's pretty empty so far, but feel free to ask any questions there!

* Check out our new Product, MIDI Motion Machine! - Twist and turn your iPhone/iPod touch to make dramatic changes in your music over MIDI! Features user MIDI CC patches and trigger pads as well!

COMING SOON! Check our webpage for:

-New Product: Sample Beater - play drum samples and other sounds in the air like a drum stick. Will also feature MIDI over WiFi.

Two words: works perfectly. Link it to your favorite synth filter to control resonance and cut-off at the same time... Pure beauty, and way more intuitive and expressive than knobs or mouse moves. Cool!

Fantastic MIDI controller

This app is terrific for controlling MIDI signals in an innovative, yet simple fashion. My applications are in music and robotics. I was able to install and run 3 servo robots, wireless, in no time at all. Was able to control all three axis with fingers while walking around room. This will help with recording performances.

The sister app called MIDI motion machine also was a breeze to install and run. Placed iTouch on top of my head and watched robot head mimic my movements.

Kudos CM. Outstanding job! What's next?

Yes! finally!

Very easy to set up. Very easy to use. Best of all it works hand in hand with my m-audio midi controller in flstudio. However a few simple additions could really make this perfect.

Since I like to link x to pitch you should include a grid to represent the diatonic scale. In other words each line represents a half-step on a piano. Otherwise it becomes very difficult to adjust the pitch to a note. An example of this is the app "bebot".
